Draw system announced for applications quota

Due to the continued high levels of first time buyer interest in Co-Ownership Housing the scheme has announced a draw system for aspiring first time buyers hoping to make the June 2009 Co-Ownership applications quota.
Alan Crowe, Chief Executive of Co-Ownership Housing, says: “The levels of potential first time buyer interest in applying through Co-Ownership far exceeds the number of places we currently have available on the scheme. This level of interest resulted in people queuing overnight at the beginning of May to be the first to lodge an application for that month’s applications quota.”
“We are understandably concerned at the health and safety implications for people queuing outside overnight for a prolonged period of time and have therefore introduced a draw system for the June applications quota.”
Explaining how the draw system for the June 2009 applications quota will operate, Alan Crowe said: “There will be a qualifying period for entry in to the draw for the June applications quota with all applications received during this qualifying period going forward into the draw. An independent adjudicator will make the draw with applications being drawn at random until there are sufficient complete applications to fill the quota.”
The draw for the June applications quota of 65 will take place at the Co-Ownership offices on Wednesday 3rd June at noon. The qualifying period will commence at 8am on Monday 1st June until 5.30pm on Tuesday 2nd June. All applications forms received during that period will go forward to the draw.
