Co-Ownership Doors Open to Help More Home Buyers

Two pieces of positive news for the beleaguered Northern Ireland housing market were announced today by Co-Ownership Housing, the region’s equity sharing scheme designed to help people onto the property ladder.
“Effective immediately and until further notice we are suspending the Co-Ownership quota so there is no limit on the number of applications we can take in. People can apply any day of the week - our doors are open”, says Alan Crowe, Co-Ownership Housing’s Chief Executive.
“We are also reaching out to help a wider range of home buyers through our scheme. People who have owned a property before but who don’t own one now may be able to turn to Co-Ownership for help back onto the property ladder. “ Terms and conditions will apply to qualify.
“To help with any questions, we are running a series of "Doors Open" evenings over October and November where people can come in to talk to our Applications Team.”
“In recent months there has been a monthly quota for Co-Ownership applications. The quota acted as a cap on the number of applications we could take in”, explains Alan. “October and November will be quota free, and we will extend this further where we can, though we may have to introduce an applications quota again at some later date.”
