To be able to get a home through Rent to Own please be aware that your credit file should not show that you or any joint applicant has:
- Home credit or payday loans in the last 6 months
- Defaults in the last 3 months
- Debt management plan completed less than 3 years ago
- Debt relief order completed less than 3 years ago
- Bankruptcy discharged less than 3 years ago
- Individual Voluntary Arrangement discharged less than 3 years ago
- Voluntary arrangement discharged less than 3 years ago
- Money judgements discharged less than 3 years ago
If you have then you will need to wait before applying for Rent to Own. In the meantime it might be helpful for you to visit Money Advice Service and perhaps review your credit file.
