Damian McElholm

Damian joined the Board in 2017 and serves on the Finance & HR Committee.

Damian studied law at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne and subsequently obtained a postgraduate Certificate in Professional Legal Studies from Queen’s University.

Following qualification as a solicitor, he was engaged as in-house legal counsel at Irish Nationwide Building Society. In that role he obtained invaluable experience from a legal, valuation and banking perspective working on the transfer of various tranches of loans and underlying security to the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA).

Damian is currently an associate in the Finance legal team at Arthur Cox, Belfast. He has developed significant experience undertaking lead roles in secured lending, capital markets, securitisation, restructuring and insolvency related transactions. He regularly acts on behalf of both funders and corporate borrowers and has recently been involved in a number of high profile matters in the renewable energy and social housing sectors.
